The research is devoted to the issue of organizing lingvocultural, cross-cultural and sociocultural information with the purpose of developing foreign-language sociocultural competence. The author points out the fact that the development of this competence is very important taking into account the rearrangement of the process of higher education according to the principles of competency building approach. The author recommends some ways of organizing the necessary material.
