The article considers basic parameters for evaluating publication activity of higher school professors: number of publications, h-index, impact factor of the journal, foreign and domestic databases. The authors analyze the Translation Agency activities in the Institute of Humanities and determine their role in enhancing competitiveness of the university. The article presents numerous examples of linguistic difficulties selected by translators and editors.
