        <p>Forming foreign language competence of linguistic students by studying English songs was analyzed. The experience of applying songs in class was considered and a trial experiment was conducted. It illustrated that applying tutorship in working with songs is conducive to developing foreign language competence by improving phonetic, lexical and listening comprehension skills.</p>
