The article presents a brief description of authors’ experience in World Cities, World Class (WC2) Summer Symposium 2016 participation. The participants are the professors and students of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU). The specific format of the workshop is analyzed, challenges of acquiring the XXI century competencies are emphasized. Participation in a cross-cultural project on web-site design is described, student opinions on the Summer school are analyzed.
