        <p>The purpose of this study is to reveal and identify the linguistic representation and actualization of critical discourse. The study examines the language tools used to reflect the system of facts, which are the evaluative category of journalistic discourse. The process of teaching students of the humanitarian direction of international relations is analyzed to determine the instruments of influence on the recipient in political discourse. The relevance of the study lies in the need to understand the requirements of constructing critical discourse and the growing interest in the features of English discourse, the influence of the language of communication on the assessment of events around the world. The importance of studying the diversity of types of political communication and teaching critical discourse – analysis with the aim of choosing the right argument and the development of critical thinking of students is revealed. Examples of discourse analysis from the tabloid (newspaper The Sun) and quality English press (newspaper The Guardian) are given, taking into account the importance of the headlines for the correct discourse analysis. The linguistic and cultural aspects of the language of political journalism and the practical aspects of teaching students discourse analysis are examined.</p>
