      <abstract xml:lang="en">
        <p>Learning of misleading words is one of the motivating factors for students as it reveals their knowledge, activates mechanisms of associative thinking and encourage work with dictionaries. The work with “false friends” helps to understand important mechanisms of meaning transformation, multidimensional semantic relations of synonyms and antonyms, polysemy and 160 homonymy. Therefore, learning misleading words can be a starting point for the systematic study of vocabulary.</p>
