This article addresses issues related to the prospects for distance learning in modern general education institutions. The author considers information services used in teaching and are gives examples of additional resources for this method. Besides, the paper deals with fundamental issues of Russian modern education system focused on the formation of certain skills in students. The author notes that school should organize in-service training of teachers and school support staff.
