        <p>Potential conference activities are analyzed as the educational environment conducive to the development of communicative competence of trainees. The use of new educational technologies, introduction of advanced forms of educational process organization and active teaching methods are provided, along with the integration of education, science and innovation. Particular attention is paid to cultural differences and discursive characteristics of communication within the students’ scientific conferences, which distinguishes them from other forms of academic communication.</p>
