A brief description of the conference held by the Institute of Humanities Peter the Great St. Petersburg State Polytechnic University (SPbPU) describes the main activities of the conference and the humanitarian environment issues in a technical university: the principles and conditions of its development, humanization and humanitarization of higher education, professional training of humanism-oriented graduates. Humanitarian globalization is analyzed as reflected in fundamental aspects of higher education, in the integration of humanitarian and technical subjects, organization of dialogue between cultures in the context of a technical university. Examples of humanity-oriented project activities are given.
