          <artTitle lang="ENG">Discipline «Contemporary technologies of teaching foreign languages» in professional teachers’ training</artTitle>
        </artTitles>
        <abstracts>
The growing tendency of technologization at the levels of general and higher education, including pedagogical education, actualizes the need to include disciplines in the training of future teachers, allowing to train them for a critical and comprehensive understanding of the essence, features, existing classifications of teaching technologies for the subject (both digital and humanitarian); analysis of modern educational and methodological complexes of the general education system for the presence and quality of certain technologies; development and application of teaching technologies in future professional teaching activities. The novelty and significance of the study lies in substantiating the specifics and difficulties of designing and implementing the program of the optional discipline «Contemporary technologies of teaching foreign languages» in the main educational programs for the training of teachers of foreign languages at the bachelor's level (direction of training “Pedagogical education”, training profiles «Foreign language and Foreign language»). The author presents the possible content of this discipline (the main content blocks of the program), formulates the basic principles of its design and implementation, identifies the key forms of organization of training in the implementation of the designated discipline. The main research methods were: analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature in the problem field of research; questionnaire survey of both future and practicing teachers of foreign languages; generalization and analysis of personal experience in the development and implementation of this discipline in the process of pedagogical activity at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Tomsk State Pedagogical University: monitoring the educational activities of students.

        </artTitles>
        <abstracts>
The article discusses the problem of creating pedagogical conditions for the continuity of disciplines in the process of teaching students of the linguistic direction of university training with the example of the «academic writing» discipline. It is shown that the skills of academic writing in English are considered to be the main tool in the professional and career development of undergraduate students. Comparison of the language disciplines distribution with the examples of Methodology of Teaching English and Translation profiles is carried out, and the identified interdisciplinary inconsistencies of the curriculum are described. To illustrate academic disciplines coordination, the goals and objectives of the modules «Composition of English Writing» and «Academic Writing» are analyzed. It is concluded that it is necessary to develop criteria for assessing academic writing, which should be formulated by the university in accordance with the recommendations of the researchers and relying on the experience of those countries and universities where the necessary pedagogical conditions for teaching this aspect have already been formed. The solution to the problem of quality improvement is the creation of a university quality standard regulating the continuity of disciplines and their content and approving the discipline syllabus with an indication of the competencies being formed. Taking into account interdisciplinary links in the process of teaching a foreign language will make it more consistent and successful.

        <abstracts>
The article analyzes the studies on various problems of pre-master's training of foreign citizens who have completed their undergraduate studies at foreign university. In the aspect of preparing students for admission to the magistracy this topic is relatively new both for higher education in general and for the methodology of teaching Russian as foreign language, in particular. The authors identify three areas of research in premaster's training. The first area consists of works on legal and organizational aspects of pre-master's programs. The studies of the second group develop a methodology for teaching specialized disciplines in Russian. The third group of studies covers the problems of content and methods of teaching Russian to pre-graduate students. It touches on various aspects of teaching the scientific style of speech and the use of authentic texts in order to teach the specialty language.

        <abstracts>
The article discusses the problem of analytical skills and argumentation development in foreign language. The aim of the study is to consider the possibilities of reading and quotation analysis for the argumentation, synthesis, comparison and generalization skills development. Modern students are surrounded by various internet resources, but they often ignore the availability of this opportunity even in the event of a lack of data on a particular problem. They lack self-study skills and, when faced with the need to analyze a particular idea, students cannot apply the skills of synthesis and generalization, do not remember and do not appeal to their previous experience. Reading and analyzing a literary text is considered as a preliminary stage of quote analysis and argumentation. It allows students to immerse themselves in independent educational and cognitive work, improve their search skills, synthesizing, comparing and argumentation processes. Reading is a means of teaching other types of speech activities, in particular speaking, therefore it is useful to practice these types of activities in integration.

        <abstracts>
The scientific paper is devoted to the development of foreign language discursive competence by analyzing quotations, with certain examples provided. It contains the analysis of the concept of discursive competence, research into its features and methods of its development and the results of a students’ survey aimed at identifying their opinions about the content and structure of the textbook. Conclusions about the form and content of educational materials on quotation analysis, contributing to the formation of discursive competence, were based on the students' opinions on the advantages and disadvantages of this textbook. The textbook should expand students' background knowledge and help them consolidate the vocabulary related to the topics from the basic course book stated in the curriculum. It should contain a number of examples and illustrate the steps of analyzing quotations. In order to improve the quality of educational materials, students' views should be taken into consideration in a textbook dedicated to quotation analysis so that the foreign language discursive competence can be developed more efficiently.

        <abstracts>
Building foreign language discursive competence of students with an average level of language proficiency is an important aspect of their professional development as students’ analytical skills determine their relevance in the labor market. The primary task of a foreign language teacher for such students is the need to adapt discourse analysis. A simplified analysis of political discourse is considered, with the farewell speech of American President Barack Obama given as an example. Discourse analysis consists of the stages of reading and translation, explication of the extralinguistic background and stylistic analysis, which is most indicative for understanding the persuasive impact of discourse on listeners. The components of persuasiveness are politically significant content, the figurative structure of discourse, which uses metaphors and vivid epithets, as well as various rhetorical figures, enumerations, lexical repetitions, etc. The practical significance of the research is determined by the fact that this work can be used as the basis for a special course on discourse as a way of communicating and understanding the world around us. Research materials can be also considered as the basis for a teaching manual to be used not only in the educational process of colleges and universities, but also in the training of specialists in various fields.

          <artTitle lang="ENG">Denglish inclusions in social media: the case study of internet discourse</artTitle>
        </artTitles>
        <abstracts>
The article considers Denglish as the sociolinguistic language formation in line with the footing of World Englishes paradigm. Using the methods of comparative-historical linguistics, the authors outline the sociolinguistic factors of the formation of the modern linguistic situation in Germany and describe the changes in the German language associated with the influence of the English language. The attitudes of Russian (Lev Scherba) and foreign (Dieter E. Zimmer) scholars towards linguistic purism are cited, the theoretical tenets of researchers working with the concepts of ‘code switching’ (P. Muysken, C. Myers-Scotton, U. Weinreich) and ‘World Englishes’ (E.W. Schneider, B.B. Kachru, Z.G. Proshina, L.A. Devel) are highlighted and reframed. The purpose of the article is to analyze the phenomenon of code switching in the German social media discourse in Twitter; for this purpose, terminological coinage "denglish inclusions" is introduced and grounded. The work is novel in that formal (structural) and functional features of Denglish inclusions are analyzed and juxtaposed, since discourse analysis involves the examination of both linguistic and extralinguistic (communicativepragmatic and cognitive) factors. As a result of the research, the interconnection between the speech intention and the structural type of code switching is revealed.
