        <abstracts>
The relevance of the study is due to the demand for professional pedagogy in connection with the increasing demands of society on the competence of graduates. It is shown that one of the factors of professional competence is the developed professional and activity-based thinking of university graduates, which meets employer needs. The goal of the article is to analyze existing ideas on students’ thinking process in the field of humanities for extrapolation on technical education and to describe the technology of students’ thinking development within the framework of the methodology of professional pedagogy, taking into account the recommendations of the Federal State Standard (FSS). The authors of the article rely on the scientifically substantiated psychological and pedagogical concept of technology for developing students' thinking, which organically combines value-semantic orientations and mental operationalism. The technology worked out by the authors for the development of students' thinking is based on professional-activity thinking as a set of interconnected intellectual procedures/actions, based on value-semantic orientations carried out through the basic operations of intellectual activity. Examples of the technology use in various areas of specialist training are given. Taking into account the thinking operations (analysis, comparison, synthesis, abstraction, generalization), the operationalization of professional activity thinking has been proposed in the technology of developing leadership-communicative and riskological competences, as well as the competence of rational environmental management of students of military and polytechnic universities.

The paper discusses the specifics of teaching special translation and English for specific purposes at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The authors analyze the motivational factors of master's students and students of further education programs based on the experience of working with state enterprises and commercial structures. The paper examines the indicators of satisfaction with learning within the framework of the master's program "Translation and Intercultural Communication" and further education programs. The study revealed the need for further improvement of the syllabi under consideration, and demonstrated their relevance in the professional environment. Today, customization of new syllabi calls for the revision of existing teaching methods of special translation and English for specific purposes and for the development of teaching aids and methods.

        <abstracts>
At the present stage of the interdisciplinary links theory development,  tasks related to the search for effective approaches to teaching foreign students of Russian universities in Russian seem relevant. New approaches include content and language integrated learning (CLIL). The introduction of this approach is due to the need to increase the educational and professional motivation of students and to create conditions for optimizing time resources within the educational process. The article, based on the materials of the subject “International Economic Relations”, presents a comparative analysis of the pedagogical conditions for teaching Russian as a foreign language for specific purposes and the pedagogical conditions for CLIL training in the basic educational programs of non-philological universities (the purpose of the course, the focus of the educational situation, the role of language, students’ competence level in the Russian as a foreign language, which is necessary and sufficient to achieve the goal, etc.).

        </artTitles>
        <abstracts>
The relevance of this article is in the need of studying the potential of literary texts in the process of teaching a foreign language due to the rare reference of teachers to examples presented in the works of both classics and modern writers. It is currently debated that the use of literary texts in foreign language classes as an educational material is not obligatory, but it is necessary due to the close relationship between language and literature. Literary texts can be considered as authentic materials and reference sources used for the development of basic language skills. The purpose of the article is to elaborate methodological techniques and a set of practical tasks aimed at teaching English to students of economic specialties. The research material was fragments of authentic literary works containing quotations related to economic topics. In conclusion, the authors state that the integration of literary texts into the traditional methodology of teaching a foreign language will contribute not only to the development of linguistic and cultural aspects of the target language, but also to the successful formation and further development of students’ professional and general cultural competences.

        </artTitles>
        <abstracts>
The possibilities of interactive foreign language teaching at a university in the mode of students’ out-of-class independent work have been studied. A generalized model of interactive learning is considered; it is shown that the search method of teaching, supplemented by the interaction of students in the digital environment, involves students in the process of independent acquisition of knowledge, collection and research of information. The organization of search independent work using the project method leads to an increase in students' interest in research activities and an increase in motivation for learning a foreign language. Examples of digital resources for creating the final products of project activities are given, problematic aspects of project-based learning are briefly described. It was revealed that project method, as a practice of learning in collaboration, allows us to effectively follow the principles of an individual-personal approach that contributes to the most complete disclosure of the students’ creative potential. Examples of specific projects implemented at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) and Emperor Alexander I Petersburg State Transport University (PSTU) are given, and the features of their implementation are analyzed. General educational projects for junior students are supplemented by scientific projects of PSTU senior students.

        </artTitles>
        <abstracts>
Euphemistic units, as components of a specific layer of vocabulary of the Russian language, are widely used in all socially significant spheres of human life. The study of military euphemisms contributes to the formation of the systemic understanding of the Russian language among cadets, as well as to developing their communicative and cultural competence. This linguistic phenomenon should be included in the Russian language training program for cadets of military educational institutions in Vietnam in order to enrich military terms. Based on systematization, generalization, analysis of the articles from Russian newspapers, magazines and television news broadcasts, this article poses and solves the problem of considering the linguistic specificity of military euphemisms. It also offers a set of exercises for working with euphemisms in advanced Russian language classes for cadets of military educational institutions in Vietnam. This, in turn, can become a prerequisite for further studies in pedagogical and linguistic fields.
