</artTitles>
        <abstracts>
Cognitive load in cognitive psychology and pedagogy is considered as one of the main factors influencing the effectiveness of learning. Teaching strategies that do not take into account learners' cognitive load may interfere with learners' perception, memory, processing and use of information and reduce the quality of learning outcomes. Therefore, in the context of educational activities, it seems relevant to apply basic ideas of the cognitive load theory to pedagogical design, as well as to develop recommendations for teachers and students. The aim of this article is to conceptualize the notion of cognitive load in the context of the teaching and learning process, as well as systematize recommendations for managing the cognitive load of students in three aspects: management of intrinsic cognitive load, reduction of extraneous cognitive load, activation of germane cognitive load.

        <abstracts>
The article presents research results related to the methodological aspects of using the potential of corpus linguistics tools in educational activities. The article deals with linguistic corpora application for the formation and development of the lexical scientific communication component in the first year students of medical school at the «Foreign Language» discipline. Foreign language linguistic corpora Corpus of Contemporary American English (COCA) and British National Corpus (BNC) act as methodological tools. The potential of linguistic corpora as a tool for developing the lexical component of professional scientific communication is determined. Possible organizational forms, as well as variants of exercises and tasks aimed at developing the skills of processing linguistic corpora in order to form the lexical component of professional scientific communication, further determining the linguistic design of scientific professional text, are proposed. The effectiveness of the proposed exercises is confirmed by statistical data.

The article presents the results of testing the adapted model for competencies of specialist’s professional responsibility in the learning process for further professional education of flight crew members. The task of the article is the development and use of the adapted competency model in the format of internationally established competency frames, as applicable to civil aviation specialists. The article explains the necessity for forming logical and organized package of special professional competencies that can be used as a basis for forming specialist’s professional competency. The main methods of research were: investigation and analysis of modern international requirements for professional training of civil aviation specialists; analysis
of aviation accidents, their summarizing and synthesis presented as didactic material in the format of the developed adapted model of competencies; expert survey; structural frequency analysis and pedagogical experiment. These methods proved scientific character, validity and usefulness of the adapted model of specialist's professional responsibility, as well as its effective use in the learning process of the further professional education of flight crew members.

        <abstracts>
Among mathematical disciplines, algebra stands out in that, regardless of the object nature, it analyzes the connections between them. This paper substantiates the legitimacy of using mathematical structures to formalize a structural approach to building the process of comprehensive student learning. It is shown that the language of mathematical structures and schemes dominating in mathematical modeling, discrete mathematics and the theory of computational processes is the basis for the accumulation of a variety of other knowledge. It plays an important role in the mastery of activity methods aimed at implementing interdisciplinary connections when studying various university courses by students of higher educational institutions through interaction in the information educational environment. This methodological approach to teaching students is, in general, an effective method of training highly qualified specialists, and also creates the prerequisites for individual attention to those students who show increased interest in creative independent scientific activity, which is impossible without the use of structuring skills and identifying general patterns of information flows.

The process of creating and approbation of the interactive educational platform «Global Healthcare center» is considered. This platform aimed at improving the professional foreign language competence can create a basis for more effective Doctor-Patient interaction. The authors describe the following stages of the project which are in the process of development: a computer-based learning game and a digital simulation «Virtual Patient». According to the results of approbation at the Foreign Languages Department of the medical university, the authors came to the conclusion that the use of this educational platform called «Global Healthcare center» not only helps to improve language proficiency of both medical students and healthcare professionals, but also enhances their communication skills.

        <abstracts>
The paper focuses on the problems of grammatical skill formation using modern Internet-based technologies in English language training of aviation university students. The aim of the study is to examine online resources for English grammar training and give recommendations on their application. A brief overview of research designed to teach English grammar using Internet resources is presented. A description of various sites aimed at teaching English grammar is given, and the advantages of their use are considered. The paper provides guidelines on using Internet resources in combination with traditional teaching methods, with the advantages of their usage being also described. Internet is considered as a training tool of various grammar aspects at foreign language classes. It is proved that Internet-based English grammar training in correspondence with grammartranslation approach is more effective compared to the traditional one. The study was conducted at the St. Petersburg University of Civil Aviation, with 52 first and second year students taking part in the experiment. The experiment showed that students in the experimental group had increased motivation to learn English grammar; their level of grammar knowledge has improved. Thus, it has been shown that teaching English grammar using Internet technologies is more effective than traditional teaching.

The article presents the results of the theoretical analysis of scientific literature devoted to the practice of using the project method in teaching students language for specific purposes. Based on the analysis, the main pedagogical conditions necessary for the
implementation of project activities in a professionally-oriented foreign language are identified, namely, the formed holistic attitude of students to the study of a foreign language and foreign language culture, the implementation of the project in the context of a future profession, the formation of the motivational field to increase students' interest in the study of a professionally oriented foreign language, the use of modern information technologies, the presence of a clearly regulated system for evaluating project activities, etc. As the result of the project method application analysis in practice, the advantages and disadvantages of this method are highlighted. Among the advantages the following are noted: increased motivation of students to study with the use of authentic materials and the choice of topics of interest to the students themselves; realization of the students’ creative potential; solving the tasks of personality-oriented learning due to the fact that each student can choose the strategy of working on the project himself, as well as the use of the most preferable methods and tools; formation of research skills. Among the disadvantages it is noted that the project method requires significant time and special training from a teacher or project manager; if students do
not have the skills and experience of working in a group, there is an unequal distribution of the study load; students strive to use their native language when discussing the project, its organization and preparation for project presentation, and this cannot be controlled by the teacher in extracurricular time.
