Introduction to art of the target language country as a means of foreign-language sociocultural competence formation in linguistics students

The author considers the process of learning the art of the target language country as a means of formation of foreign-language sociocultural competence. Art is considered as a way of transferring/conveying information about culture and the world of the native speakers of the language in question. The paper highlights importance of visualisation as one of the foreign language teaching tools. Visual presentation functions of accompany, semantisation and acculturation are emphasised as well.
