On problems of teaching listening skills at English classes at technical university and possible solutions

There is an ever-increasing spontaneous speech in public communication, therefore there is a substantial need to train professionals able to speak and understand foreign languages in Russia 162 that has recently become a part of the global world. Phonetic peculiarities of spontaneous speech that might cause misunderstandings and means of avoiding them are described in this article.
