Information competence of a translator

Abstract:

The author considers the notion of information competence, its criteria, levels and conditions of formation. Moreover, the author speculates on the importance of this competence for translators. Furthermore the author focuses on the usage of electronic dictionaries and provides the comparison of them as well as the results of the experiment on its usage among the students. Also, the author pays her attention to the notion of “computer interactivity” and describes the results of the experiment aiming at information competence formation.
