STRATEGIES OF TEACHING RUSSIAN NON-EQUIVALENT VOCABULARY TO CHINESE STUDENTS
With the development of research into the relationship between language and culture, the phenomenon of «cultural vacuum» has also become a relevant area of linguacultural studies. Three elements — nation, language and culture — are closely interconnected, and non-equivalent vocabulary is perceived and identified precisely in the interaction and comparison of different languages and cultures. Such units fully reflect peoples' cultural differences and emphasize the uniqueness of national cultures. This article examines Russian-Chinese non-equivalent words in the socio-political sphere, proposes their classification into absolutely non-equivalent and partially equivalent vocabulary, analyzes the reasons for their occurrence and proposes appropriate pedagogical strategies contributing to the effective teaching of this vocabulary in the context of teaching Russian as a foreign language, helping students understand the differences between various cultures, and increase their cultural adaptability.
