MENTORING EXPERIENCE IN ACADEMIC ADAPTATION OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AT TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY

This article focuses on the issues of mentoring, interpretation of this concept, the role of mentoring process and mentor as a performer and bearer of certain functions, in shaping the professional trajectory of education of a foreign student at a polytechnic university. The authors of the article have given various definitions of the term «mentoring» in the pedagogical field, as well as explanations of the term mentor and his functions in relation to the process of foreign student adaptation. In addition, the authors of the article present arguments for the introduction of mentoring into the process of foreign student adaptation in a multicultural university at the stage of pre-university training in order to integrate them more comfortably into the educational environment. An example of successful mentoring implementation in a non-humanitarian multicultural university is given.
