The French teaching as a second foreign language in the Russian higher education institutes and the reform of French orthography

The article deals with the recent reform of French orthography developed by the Supreme Council of the French language in accordance with the French Academy which approved in 1990, methods and time of their realization, the reaction of the French world (teachers, book publishers and ordinary French native speakers) and the reform related problems of the French language teaching, as a second foreign language, in Russian higher education institutions.
