Teaching Special Translation and Professionally-oriented Foreign Language: Development of Syllaby at Polytechnic University

The paper discusses the specifics of teaching special translation and English for specific purposes at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University. The authors analyze the motivational factors of master's students and students of further education programs based on the experience of working with state enterprises and commercial structures. The paper examines the indicators of satisfaction with learning within the framework of the master's program "Translation and Intercultural Communication" and further education programs. The study revealed the need for further improvement of the syllabi under consideration, and demonstrated their relevance in the professional environment. Today, customization of new syllabi calls for the revision of existing teaching methods of special translation and English for specific purposes and for the development of teaching aids and methods.
