The article is aimed at discussing the issues related to the role of a foreign language teacher in the training of engineering major students for international conference participation. It considers the role of a foreign language teacher in the organization of students‘ research activity. It analyzes the issues related to writing a scientific publication in English and training for the oral presentation. The article points out the asymmetry in the linguistic structure of a scientific publication and its oral presentation.
