New trends in the implementation of professionally-oriented foreign language learning in a non-linguistic university

Presented are the principles and main stages of developing a syllabus for the first stage English language learning in the National Research University "Higher School of Economics". Preconditions of creating a new syllabus for the first year students of the Faculty of World Economy and International Affairs are considered. The experience of integration of the three aspects in the academic discipline "English language"- English for General Purposes, English for Special Purposes, English for Academic Purposes – is found to be useful.
