Abstract:

The paper analyzes the role of universities in the training of highly qualified researchers in the field of economics and discusses the requirements for the scientific relevance of economic research conducted by graduate students and the practical value of the research results. The problems hindering the studies on relevant topics and impeding the growth of the practical value of the work are indicated.
