Didactic possibilities of using internet resources in organizing students’ independent work

The paper considers issues of increasing efficiency of students’ independent work in doing tasks on home reading. Audio-books, which are an example of multimodal text, and concordances of literary texts allowing readers to see all contexts of unfamiliar words from the text are thought to be the most promising Internet resources in this respect. Possible tasks based on using the resources in question are also discussed. The tools and opportunities provided by the website Compleat Lexical Tutor are considered in detail.
