Scientific and practical research on pre-master, pre-post-graduate and pre-resident training of foreigners in Russian universities

The article analyzes the studies on various problems of pre-master's training of foreign citizens who have completed their undergraduate studies at foreign university. In the aspect of preparing students for admission to the magistracy this topic is relatively new both for higher education in general and for the methodology of teaching Russian as foreign language, in particular. The authors identify three areas of research in premaster's training. The first area consists of works on legal and organizational aspects of pre-master's programs. The studies of the second group develop a methodology for teaching specialized disciplines in Russian. The third group of studies covers the problems of content and methods of teaching Russian to pre-graduate students. It touches on various aspects of teaching the scientific style of speech and the use of authentic texts in order to teach the specialty language.
