Providing continuity between secondary and higher educational institutions in building scientific-research competence

The article presents the definition of scientific-research competence and the list of its main components. Then on the basis of these components the continuity between secondary and higher educational institutions is analyzed. The trial research which was conducted in a secondary school was used to illustrate the case. According to the results of the study, most of the pupils who took part in the trial research possess only a few components of scientificresearch competence in foreign languages.
